5-2-25   THOUGHTS  

What delightful words of thankful yearning in this morning’s reading.  This is a response to David’s understanding of God’s  power, and glory and His loving kindness.  The thirst and yearning words are intense. This is not some passive “thank You” thought given in passing.  Praise due is recognized.  The “lips” are a need part of the praise!  The mouth and “joyful lips”
add to the idea.  A satisfied souls seeks earnestly.  God is remembered, and thought on in the night time.  I love the end...   “And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.”

Ps 63:1-7    O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2  Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.  3  Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You.  4  So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5  My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.  6  When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches,  7  For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.

My Prayer:
Lord, help us to yearn with greater earnestness for You!  As we see Your  power, and glory and  loving kindness, may we respond as delighted children.  May our satisfied souls praise You with joyful lips.  You are an awesome God in our sight.  May we lift You up with our whole, heart, soul and mind.  Because He lives, we live... and pray in His holy name,    Amen.
